KyivPride 2019 Program
I'm responsible for content issues of the Pride Week and coordination of the Pride Week volunteering team.
I do it because while advocating LGBTIQ+ rights it's important for me that trans*, queer and non-binary inclusion must be seen rather in deeds than in declarations. I want to contribute to consolidation and mobilization of trans*, queer and non-binary community in the LGBTIQ+ movement in general and in KyivPride movement in particular.
I'm responsible for content issues of the Pride Week and I do whatever possible to make Pride an interesting, stimulating and useful event for Ukraine.
I'm responsible for collaboration with authorities and police as for the safety of the Equality March and other Pride-week events.
I do it because I believe that human rights are the most important common humanity. I try to advance the date when LGBTIQ+ people will be able to live openly and safely in Ukraine, when the government will provide implementation and protection of their human rights. KyivPride is a powerful tool for transforming of social discourse via courage of being yourself and to become visible.
I'm responsible for PrideCinema and other KyivPride art projects.
KyivPride raises an issue of equal rights and non-discrimination for LGBTIQ+ in Ukraine to the national level. It also helps the community get more visible and more open via public dialogue and the Pride March. Taking part in KyivPride-2019 gives me a possibility to contribute to the development of the country where people appreciate human rights and uphold the principles of mutual respect and acceptance.
I'm responsible for organizing of the Equality March, organized convoys, registration, and platforms.
I do it because I want LGBT+ people to live freely in Ukraine.
I became a part of the Organizing Committee to contribute to the visibility of LGBTIQ+ community and to development of LGBTIQ+ movement in Ukraine. KyivPride is the biggest human rights advocacy event that promotes equality and freedom. These are the values I share and I am ready to fight for them.
You see, I don't understand why I still have to fight for my rights year after year in the 21st century in a democratic country.
But I'll keep on doing it until it is no longer required - for me and for others.
That's what I believe in and that's my pride!
I used to watch the Equality March on TV, then I took part in the march as a transgender activist and now I want to contribute to organizing and holding of the March with the team of highly interested people. Is it a challenge for me? Yes. But it is also a new experience and trying to find if I'm creative enouhg and capable to complete the task. I believe that KyivPride will change me and give me new insights. Join the March this summer, it's going to be great!
My goal is to organize a creative space during the Pride Week so that everyone will have an opportunity to take part in artistic events and discover new interests.
I do it because I think that KyivPride is the biggest Ukrainian LGBTIQ+ event and I want to be a part of it.
I'm responsible for finding new partners and mobilizing the actual ones.
I do it because KyivPride, the biggest LGBTIQ+ human rights event, inspires me! I can participate in organizing it and work with a dream team for Ukrainian LGBTIQ+ community's sake.
It's gonna be Pride!
Human rights defender and activist whose work focuses on human rights for LGBTIQ+ community and women. Since 2012, Olena has been CEO of NGO ‘Insight' that was founded in 2008.
I joined KyivPride team because I know that I cannot change my country for better on my own but I can do it surrounded by other wonderful people that have a great interest in their work and inspire me and hundreds of other Ukrainians to reach for more.
